The GeneticsAndCancer initiative is led by the Department of Medical Oncology at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh — one of India's premier medical institutions.

Our mission is to empower patients and families with clear, reliable, and easy-to-understand information about cancer — especially its genetic and hereditary aspects.

We believe that awareness saves lives. By helping people understand risk factors, warning signs, and the importance of early screening, we can together reduce the burden of cancer in India.

Our Goals

  • • Educate families about hereditary cancer and genetic counseling.
  • • Promote early detection through screening awareness.

Genetics & Cancer Registry

We maintain a Genetics & Cancer Registry — a database of families with hereditary cancer. This helps in research, risk-assessment, and offering personalized screening advice to at-risk individuals.
